Bourke Street Bakery is opening its first storefront in Jersey City. The Aussie import will be located in the base of the recently opened Hendrix tower at 180 Morgan Street.
Owner and chef Paul Allam opened the first Bourke Street Bakery in New York at 15 East 28th Street in May of 2019. Since then, the bakery has garnered a cult following and expanded across New York City to Grand Central, Chelsea, and the Upper West Side. Allam is known for his classic Aussie meat pies, lamb/almond/harissa sausage roll, shakshuka danishes, and his sourdough breads. The bakery’s unique menu has also helped it make it onto countless “best of” lists and was named one of the 15 best essential New York bakeries by Eater.
Bourke Street Bakery Jersey City is the latest Aussie import to open in Jersey City. It’s joined by recently opened Wattle Cafe. No opening date has been set yet.
