Van Leeuwen is coming to Jersey City. The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) announced via its Instgram account that the New York-based ice cream shop just signed a lease at 347 Grove Street. This will be their second New Jersey storefront (they have one in the American Dream Mall).
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream launched in 2008 from a yellow truck on the streets of NYC. It’s mission was simple: to make good ice cream that makes you feel good. Flavors include peanut butter brownie honeycomb, Sicilian pistachio, marionberry cheesecake, and (one of our personal favorites) early grey tea.
They also offer vegan ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, and other seasonal treats. No word yet on when the Jersey City shop will open.
