Halloween weekend is almost here and if you’re looking for things to do, we’ve got you covered. From costume parties to a zombie opera, here are the best Halloween events in Jersey City this weekend.

Friday Events

What: Fright Night at Emma’s
When: Friday, October 28 from 9:30pm
Where: 4th Path Plaza
For a night of dancing and live music, you’ll want to head to Emma’s. The restaurant is throwing a Halloween party with live DJs, performances, and a live art installation by Ciara and tarot card readings by Bianca. Plus, there will be a costume contest with a cash prize for first place.

What: Halloween Party at Belle Ame Cafe
When: Saturday, October 29 from 11am to 2pm
Where: 76 Cottage Street
Belle Ame Cafe is throwing its inaugural Halloween party. There will be live music featuring June and the Pushas, food/drink specials, and prizes for best costumes.

Where: 1 Distillery Drive
Corgi Spirits is hosting a Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Resurrection Party. The night will include cover bands playing songs from The Hives, Modest Mouse, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and more.

What: Half Light Productions Zombie Opera Circus 2022
When: Saturday, October 29 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: Hamilton Park Gazebo
Back for its third consecutive year, the Zombie Opera Circus will be held in Hamilton Park and feature professional opera singers performing works from Faust, La Traviata, La Boheme, Carmen, and Rigoletto. The show will be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Catriona Rubenis-Stevens.

What: Creatures of the Night Halloween Party
When: Saturday, October 29 from 9pm
Where: Ed & Mary’s at 174 Coles Street
Neighborhood bar Ed & Mary’s is hosting a Halloween party with live DJs, drink specials, and a prize for top costume. The kitchen is open till 11pm and patio will be open till 12am.

What: Zeppelin Hall Halloween Costume Party
When: Saturday, October 29 from 9pm
Where: 88 Liberty View Drive
The annual Zeppelin Hall costume party is back. Admission is free and the best-dressed costume of the night gets $1,000.

What: Days of the Dead Celebration
When: Sunday, October 30 from 10am to 2pm
Where: Riverview Park
Jersey City’s biggest Halloween celebration is back with a full day of events. From 10am to 12pm there will be pumpkin painting with Busy Bee Organics. From 12pm to 2pm enjoy the annual Day of the Dead Giant Puppet Parade with live mariachi and dancers. From 1pm to 2pm there will also be a dog costume contest with prizes from Modcup, Hound About Town, Lil Dove Cafe, and more.

What: Halloween Bash at Speer Cemetery
When: Sunday, October 30 from 3:30pm
Where: 145 Vroom Street
The Journal Square Community Association is hosting a Halloween party at the Speer Cemetery. Come for spooky treats, walking tours, photo opportunities, and more.

Monday

What: Halloween Family Bash
When: Monday, October 31 from 3pm to 8pm
Where: Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall
Head to the Jersey City Pedestrian Plaza for a family-friendly Halloween party. There will be games, face painting for kids, a corn maze, pumpkins, candy, and more. Plus, there will be live music from the Ghost of Uncle Joe’s including The Break-A-Leg Entertainers, Sofa Oro and the Doll Parts, Howlin’ Bill, The Hoboken School of Rock, and Emily Gabriele and Junior Jewels.
